At the recent whole school assembly, students from the Year 9 Academic Extension English class were acknowledged for their achievements in the 2012

All Saints College Storylines Writers’ competition.

After attending an excursion to the All Saints Literature Festival earlier in the year, Year 9 students were encouraged by their teacher, Mrs Bromham, to submit entries into the competition. The theme “From Little Things, Big Things Grow” was the inspiration in the categories of poetry, prose or illustrations.

Congratulations go to the following Year 9 students who competed – and won – against students from some of Perth’s most prestigious private schools.

    ·       FIRST PRIZE, Illustration: Kathy Nguyen

    ·       JOINT FIRST PRIZE, Poetry: Ruby Van Kins

    ·       HIGH COMMENDATION, Prose: Ayentu Manyahelale

This once again proves that both the staff and students in the English Learning Area at Warwick SHS are winners!
